... to be constantly moving, so tracking them is a bit more difficult, but, once again, our guides headed to a particular area where they had spotted cheetahs before, picked up the track, and we were there – it seemed so simple. We came upon a mother and her three one-year old cubs. After watching them for about 15 minutes, one of the cubs stopped and appeared to zero in on something. We stopped as well and watched. Suddenly, he bounded forward and into the brush. The ...

There is no fence at Royal Legend, so any animal can walk through the camp at anytime. There is an outdoor shower here as well. This one is only covered on one side instead of being totally blocked in. I wanted to try this at Jackalberry, but didn't have the chance, this one looked a little more risky.

Back at camp, we all stood around the fire, enjoying lots of beverages. Amy decides to really drink up this evening in order to fall asleep easily. Dinner comes, and once again the ...

We continued on next to the elephants. Elephants are usually found in one area, so Van knows exactly where to go to spot them. At first we saw two elephants walking, but as we followed them for a bit we were led to the whole group of 20 to 30 of them. In order to keep our distance, we drove on the other side of the river. But Van told us to get out of the car so that we ...
... to go off road to follow the animals around. However, the area covered is relatively small so they drive the same roads over and over. At one point we felt the experience (the planned drive routes and the daily routine) was a little like Disney Land. Another interesting thing is that small private reserves like Elephant Plains have arrangements with some other private reserves to allow each other access to each ...
Elephant Plains in Sabi Sands, South Africa sfrtw... January. After 6 hours of driving we arrived in the town of Nelspruit and spent the night there because we didn't have enough daylight to make it to Kruger. The following morning we took off early but had problems exchanging money into U.S. dollars at the banks...we needed U.S. dollars because this is the most widely accepted currency on most of the tours. Eventually we finally arrived in the ...

Later, we saw a black rhino, and the same near ******* experience happened all over again. We ended the day by seeing a whole bunch of Baboons right by our camp ground. One was kind enough to hump his friend in the middle of the road for us. Hilarious. By the way, Baboon ass is real. That's not just the make up artists on Mutual of Omaha getting a ...
Nelspruit, South Africa natecropp... it up to Pretoria for a night. We broke down for our first American fastfood since we were both recks after our drive--good 'ole McD's. As we were pulling out of the parking lot, we were stopped by a dead body in the road that had just been covered up. The ambulance has just gotten there so whatever happened must have taken place while we were eating. We're guessing the person got hit walking in the road, but we sure as hell didn't stick around to find out. When we got ...
