Lots of squeals and giggles and we bumped and were jarred around the twists and turns. Mark stood in the shade and waited to get ...

All week I have been humming 'California Sun' by The Rivieras. Could it be the visits to Newport Beach, its stretching mass of sand and long lines of skinny palms? Or perhaps it was just that I was 'going out west' to see if I belonged?

Whatever it was I was definitely ‘out there having fun in the warm California sun’. I became a regular dog walker staying with Steve and Dolores for the week, south of LA in Costa Mesa ('Coesta Maysa'). ...
