The owner was up and sweeping the reception area. Fortunately the place wasn't fully booked, so we were quickly shown to our room. After a quick freshen up we were back out, on a moped to find some breakfast, and search for a place called 'Trang An'. 'Trang An' is about 10km from ...

Back in Can Tho we organised a bus to another Mekong province called Vinh Long. ... comfirm this when we visit Halong Bay itself in a couple of days time. We also had the opportunity to climb a little above water level to visit the Bich Dong Pagoda and see views down over the countryside.

Ninh Binh itself is not that touristy and the choice of restaurants confirms that too. Very few 'western friendly' places exist in the centre but we were recommended a rice and noodle shack close to the station for our first ...

... aware he has opened the door for the river crossing, however I can't help but think that's more for his escape than mine as I'm at the back of the bus laying down with no sign of a safety hammer for the glass anywhere. We crossed safely obviously or the blog would have ended at that point. The next bit was to a massive bridge so no requirement for another ferry. Over the bridge and on to our lunch stop we got there about 12pm and duly got ...
