Later on the ride we had to bike through some rice paddies with little to no clearance on both sides. That was exciting. We had the ladies working the fields cheering us on as we rode through them. We eventually biked some more before heading back to the bus station. We jumped on a local bus back Hanoi where we met up with Arjun and made our way to catch ...

Unfortunately it was all in Vietnamese so it was a bit lost on us. What was more interesting was what Minh told us on our walk back to the boat. He, like other southerners, is very unhappy about the current political system but, nevertheless, he has a great deal of ...

... flavour and I wasn't convinced. We took a walk around the crocodile enclosures, they really are evil looking things, beady eyes and gaping jaws. They are mainly bred for their skin which is made into bags etc and a male crocodile can fetch up to $800. We were dropped at the hotel and had the rest of the afternoon to ourselves. Unfortunately, Long Xuyen is a rather non-event but we went for a wander down to the river and then cooled off in the small outdoor swimming pool back at the ...
