We hiked the trail back on the opposite side of the river & got home around 3.30pm so we really made a day of it. There were a lot of hills in the hike so I'm sure we're both going to be sore tomorrow ha. There are still a few cars/rigs coming in so we went for a ride to check out the campground & it's filling right up now. It's still so warm too - I went to ...

    Day 11 Vancouver - Tofino

Well, I learned an important lesson of travel today: plan ahead! I knew I had to take a ferry from Vancouver to Nanaimo (Vancouver Island) today but for some reason it never occurred to me that I needed to book my crossing in advance. My only excuse is that there's only one ferry in my area that I rarely take and it's not a 'book-ahead' kind of ferry (crossing only takes a few minutes and it's mostly for commuters).

So, as I'm confirming ferry ...
