... Passing probably through 7 different time zones and watching 4 movies on the plane. The flight was good considering it to be the longest one. Yes 4 movies and a couple of meals, we did arrive in Chile!! But due to the time zones we were in Chile at 1pm............on Sunday again!!
Read us as we are " Back in the future in Chile" A lovely old city, but not much to do as the country is on strike..!!

I get off the plane and hop on a bus that takes me through the city of Auckland. Let's just say that the people of New Zealand are the nicest people... until they get behind the wheel!
I get dropped off in the heart of the city, find my hostel, drop off my bags and start to explore. The weather is ...

There are lots of signs around the North-Island proclaiming 'Say No to Didymo!'. In fact Marvin and me had a chap come knock on our door as we were waiting to get on the ferry and he shoved a leaflet on the same subject through our car window. Now who could have a problem with Didymo? Whatever it is. It ...

We took the bus back to the skytower and went to our car to drive back to Hamilton. Auckland isn't the most attractive city with marginally little to do. It lacked a certain character but the fact that there were lots of people and activity did make it different to many places in New Zealand.
Hello! I last wrote while I was in Christchurch which unfortunately was a bit of a disappointment.....it is supposed to be an old city that should remind one of England, however this is not quite so..... Old in NZ is not quite the same as old in the UK and is rather boring even though it is now NZ's second largest city. So from there we went to Kaikoura in the hope to go whale watching but this was cancelled due to the bad weather (not ...

I started to head out on foot to snap some photos of this picturesque settlement on the lakeside. I fired one off at the old DC3 that is part of the McDonalds dining area there. It was the last photo that camera ever took. Number 5 on tour. How the fack can 3 brand new cameras fack out with less than 1000 shots on them? In case you ...
Warkworth, North Island, New Zealand goldenbez... that stinks of sulphur and has great plumes of steam emitting from fissures in the rock and I am once again reminded of why Mt Doom was filmed here for LOTR. Around 100m off the top we find a spot where the wind becomes manageable and beckon to the sheltered couple that the conditions where we have got to are nowhere near as bad as where they were sat. The next section was volcanic scree run all the way down to the crater floor and by the time we got to the bottom we had warmed up a ...
Auckland, North Island, New Zealand adam_and_kim... or something. Why can't I get in? I asked the man at the door who resembled a hairless gorilla. "too casual" was the quick answer he shot back before checking more Ids. I didn't know my ****** could be casual but it wasn't until my friend explained there was a dress code for all the clubs and shorts aren't allowed, even though I had on some pretty spiffy shorts. I got a ride back with my friend, got jeans on (as if that is less casual). I got back, the man ...
