    A pre-breakfast trip down the road to see the Bald Eagles in early light, seemed like a good idea the night before. But at 6am when we disappeared from beautiful early sun, into foggy greyness, it looked less convincing. On arrival at the southern end of Mitkof Island, the eagles had been replaced by midges. The frantic swatting might have frightened off the eagles, if there'd been any, but with nothing but fog to see, we abandoned.

    It seems we are slower and slower to rise in the mornings now. We have been ordering room service to our cabin so we can enjoy our coffee and take our time getting up.
