... I wasn't strong enough to resist, the time to buy it would be on the way back to the ship, right? Last time we were in Ketchikan, wooden boxes of smoked salmon were everywhere. Not so this year. Cardboard boxes? no problem, but wooden, that's another story. Walked Creek Street. Saw some artwork that I'd love to have if I only had a place to put it. Happy Independence Day!! The city of Ketchikan loves a reason to celebrate. We attended the Fourth of July parade at noon. Lots of families were there, and the kids got a lot of candy. We saw floats for the classes of '74, '94, and '04 who were having reunions this weekend. After the parade, we walked around downtown and got some ice cream. Bald eagles flying ...

Yesterday, July 2, we woke up at 3:15 am to get ready and head to the Chattanooga airport for our 5:30 flight. We changed planes in Charlotte and Seattle and arrived in Ketchikan. We got here around 3:30 local time which is 4 hours behind Eastern time. We slept in some, waking to a typical Ketchikan day - rain. Had breakfast and showered, and listened to it rain some more.
