Winter Park is a large ski resort in the Rocky Mountains, just a 2 hour train ride from Denver. The train makes it easy to get to and you can stay in the town of Fraser or at the resort itself (15 minutes up the road). Fraser is much cheaper than staying at the resort and with a free shuttle on the half hour both are good options. ... morning we all gathered downtown and shopped Main Street, then set off for Aspen. The scenery was wonderful, especially the delightful Glenwood Canyon highway with its jagged and fissured cliffs and suspended ribbons of roadway.
