After leaving Asheville we werent really sure where we were heading next to spend the memorial long weekend. We had seen enough of cities for the time being and wanted to head somewhere we could relax and do some kayaking. We decided on Lake Chatuge in Hiawassee Georgia and luckily there was one room left at the Lodge.

What a surprise when we got there, it's a beautiful lakeside resort township ...

... Free Spirit 23 foot Mercedes sprinter van. Nice and cozy. We plan to take advantage of the many pullouts along the highway we have heard about for spending the night and limit our time in the larger cities. We will probably miss most of the larger salmon runs (and the bears) but will have few mosquitoes.
