Just keep an eye on your wallets, night markets in any area are pick pocket central. And ask shopkeepers to see in the back of their shop for a sneak peek at 'the good stuff' (the great designer fakes, not 'Nulberry' or 'Pradar').

          ... I looked out for the bronze plaque inlaid on the floor there which features a quote by Clive James. There are a number of these that celebrate Australian authors or others who have written about her. When I was first in Sydney I read the book that this quote is taken from, Unreliable Memoirs, in one sitting. It's a touching, articulate and honest account of a boy going into adulthood, and it's also bladder-spasmingly funny.

          As I may have mentioned before, Asian signs can be tricky, for example: to travel betweens floors, one catches a LIF - see photo - or LIF BOMBA, which seems to be the same thing.

          Penalties on vehicles are very severe - on the vehicle, not the owner!

          ... suburb is the liveliest and offers the best value for money when it comes to accommodation.

          It was instantly a good choice to come here. The hotel is clean, within our budget but not great. The location is perfect, there are heaps of street food and small stalls where we can get a feed for a couple of dollars. Danielle had told me last night that I could buy my ticket online, much to my surprise as my information said it was necessary to get there early to queue for a ticket.
