The hotel has it's own beach so on arrival we don't waste any time and lay us down on the beach beds. Aaah ...

... Thank you to everyone who sent cards, I really enjoyed opening them at early o'clock when Nath woke me up with them. In the evening, we went to a highly recommend restaurant called 69- and, well, it looked like a strip club, as we were walking up, I was thinking 'what have you brought me too Nath, it's my birthday, not yours!' The decor was gaudy to say the least, the table clothes were covered in sequins, the colours were neon pink and blue, there were net ...

... arms". Wat Plai Leam is a statue of Guanyin, the Chinese goddess of mercy who has 18 arms which are said to help her protect women, children, the sick and the poor. Here there is also a statue of a fat Chinese Buddha which represents wealth. We then went to see The Big Buddha statue (Wat Phra Yai) which we had spotted the day before when we got off the ferry. It is actually located on a little island which is separate to Koh Samui, called Koh Phan, but the two ...

... of cash. I used my own combination padlock on the locker and yet there was 2000 baht missing from my purse. I went over and over it in my head, trying to think how I could have lost so much money. I had 4800 the previous day, I have been keeping a record of what I'm spending daily so I know exactly what was in my purse. I even remember that I left the 3 x 1000 notes in my purse and went out with just the small notes that made up the other 1800. I kicked myself for ...
