    ... was well worth the 2 hour drive each way. Unbelievably Brad spotted a bear and her cub just off the road - sadly none of the rest of us saw it. The scenery was spectacular again, and we did a fantastic walk along one of the rivers, into the heart of the meadows, then had a fabulous picnic by yet another amazing river which the boys had great fun exploring.

    ... and came out of the mountains, the temperature began to rise. By the time we got below 1000 ft, the temperature hit 102 degrees! It was hot all the way back to Oakhurst. Once we reached the mountains of Oakhurst, the temperature dropped back to a more reasonable 92 degrees.
