... caught on the small hill. Very difficult to get going again in an automatic but turned off traction control and slowly crawled up the hill.

Also it started to snow at the end of the couple of weeks and I skied powder for the first time. It was great although in the first two metres I did stack it and it took a while to get used too, powder days are so much fun though.

Much easier driving today, only 1 freeway to the turnoff, just past Truckee ( great name). No real dramas this morning. Chris took our hire car to Ciaran's early. and loaded it up with booze for the pre-wedding BBQ this afternoon, which we will take. We left Ross' this afternoon on the final leg of our trip. Today it wasn't the "bumblebee" navigator who called the shots, it was Mr. "this car was made to go 130 miles per hour". Even so, with all of the traffic on the freeway, trucks in the mountains, and never-ending road construction, it took us almost six hours to get home. ... Lauren got a pulled pork sandwich with baked beans, and I got a Jax Turkey/Avocado melt with Parmesan chips. Both meals were accompanied by a beer, which seemed to be extra refreshing with my sunburn.

After Truckee we headed back on I-80 all the way to San Francisco. Tomorrow Lauren must work for most of the day, so I will take this opportunity to see the North Beach/ Fisherman's Warf area and maybe make it out to the nature museum.
