Today was our last day in Washington, before getting the Amtrak to Chicago in the afternoon. First of all just to say that our place to stay with airbnb was really good! We stayed near H Street, and we went to &Pizza and had possibly the most garlicky pizza of my life. I was on Hwy 36 most of the way, which is narrow with very little shoulder, winding up and down and around hills, hummocks, dips and hollows, with long stretches of leafy tunnels of branches from the tall hardwood trees and little towns where the houses are set back maybe 10 feet from the road. ... side! After a breakfast that included duck and venison we headed off for the day. We drove for just over an hour across a high plateau, before descending into the Ohiopyle State Park and Fallingwater. I didn't go there with any preconceptions but it was a very interesting tour and an amazing place. ... lawn chair, a big elephant (that I almost beat up some kids to climb), corn hole and tons of fun people! It was great.
Later we went back to the house and continued a night of card games, junk food, embarrassing moments and other shena****ns, The next morning sucked. I don't even want to talk about it... But that was a LONG road trip home.
Regardless though! 4th of July in Deep Creek was one ot the best weekends of my life!!! ...
