St Eustatius
After the conference we headed to St Eustatius, via St Maartin, a smaller island that makes up part of the Dutch Antilles. We stayed in Statia Lodge and had scooters to get ourselves round the island. Hiking up the volcano we saw snakes, lizards and crabs.

Do pirates like pretty things?

Soursop isn't really in season, but it seems like the owner makes juices (soursop and other fruits as well) and then freezes them for later. I apparently got the last soursop, but I'm glad I did. Today, the weather was drizzly- wet again! I wonder if all the rain gathered in the potholes in the street is a good breeding ground for mosquitoes. I am so bitten up by them! Exploring like a land pirate
... was that I could pretty much recognize all of the fruits and veggies in the produce section. The most “different” item there was that they called chayote “christophene.”
Next, we went to Ram's. This was much bigger, but still only had fruits and veggies that I recognized. It did have a much larger freezer section and international section, so if I need frozen Indian food, I know where to go.
