Well what can be said about Queenstown that hasn't already been said? Most people know the basics - beautiful, fun, adrenaline-filled, boozy, touristy. All in all, a fantastic change from the isolation of the West Coast. First of all, let me say I am flattered and inspired that people actually seem to be reading this stuff. After lunch by the lake we headed south to the adventure capital Queenstown. Queenstown is really pretty, situated on - yes you guessed it - a huge blue lake (lake Wakatipu), and surrounded by the Remarkable mountain range (remarkable!). On the 29th March we made the short drive from Wanaka to Queenstown. OK, so I got to Queenstown expecting a busy, hip little town obsessed with adrenalin activities and after jump/fly/crash parties. And that's what I found ;) It is a town set on a hillside and apart from the activities it pushes and works as a base for, it is one of the busiest snow boarding and skiing towns when the snow comes!
