... the pass which is a mountain road with switchbacks and steep drops, then eventually you end up in Aspen.

We left around 10 am and started the drive...even before the pass it was so beautiful with views of mountains, lakes, and all different coloured leaves on the trees. A lot of trees have started to lose their leaves so probably was much more colourful a few weeks ago.

... enjoys this break is Mr Pickles who is just now sleeping before we are going hicking in the mountains. The weather here is absolutly amazing reaching above 80 f so we have to wait early afternoon before heading up ! As well I am out of shape after a month just using my right foot to accelerate or braking and my ten fingers to get on the internet.

Internet, yes I am in the country that send a man walking on ...

Aspen reminded me a bit of Banff, cute little ski/snowboard town with lots of hikes in the summer.

Unfortunately, I did not realize how high up Aspen is (2400m above sea level) and once we started our hike at Maroon Bells, I felt quite dizzy and tired. Turns out I must have had some sort of altitude sickness at 3000m above sea level... That happened on our hike in Santa Fe as well.. well, now I know :)

I recovered quickly and finished the hike at least...


And right next to Nevada is Utah!!!!!!

... at about 3:00pm. Normally we can set the coach up within a half hour but we experienced a few problems at this campground. First, the septic location was about thirty feet from the coach. Our septic hose is only 25 feet. So off to Walmart we went. All the RV stores are closed on Saturday and Sunday. For $18, we had an extra 10 feet - problem solved. Next problem - no water. After further investigation, we found the water spigot was full of worms - yes ...
