... I felt awful for cutting our trip short, but after 100 days of travel my body had decided it had been pushed too far. Icecave dropped me back at the farm and I walked inside, tail between my legs: the adventurous Skywalker couldn't even hack it 2 days at some hotsprings. When I got inside I was barraged by hugs, then sat down on the couch and forced a hot chocolate. I was so grateful to have a place to bunker down in until I felt better.

... multiple days was nice. Especially after all of our hopping from place to place so fast. We have come to savor the times when we don't have to wake up early in the morning and be on our way to another destination. ... nights and had a very relaxing and comfy time even though the beavers had abandoned the lake in favor of one higher up in the hills. We sat on the porch and watched the lake and the hummingbirds that came to check out our travel mascot, Steve. Steve is a bright red parrot that carries a sign reading, "It's Five O'clock Somewhere."

We walked around the lake one day and the next day we took a 4WD trip back into the foothills and ...

... headed to Dillon Lake for a picnic lunch. We just finished lunch and the skies opened. A quick dash to the car and we were on the road again. This time our destination was Mount Evans recreation area in the Arapaho National Forest. The road to Mount Evans is the highest paved road in North America. It opened in 1931. We travelled to the summit parking lot, 14,130 feet above sea level. It was a long, slow journey. The weather was closing in and we ...
