... leading the way through the tough spots.

All and all, it was a great eye-opening experience for Glenn, Tara, and Dave. The weather held out nicely considering the record setting rain in the area just before. Carol planned nice meals and Karl provided the overall experience and fishing opportunities. It was a wonderful chance for us to see and do something unlike anything we've done before!

We caught TONS of giant smallmouth bass! The weather was decent, except for a couple of super windy days. We managed to avoid any bears or scary wildlife...just lots of chipmunks! As usual, the scenery was great. There's just something so cool about nature that's virtually untouched by man.

... next stay before you leave. And don't forget that Ely is but a 30 minute car ride and offers much to see and do for the whole family. I recommend taking a stop at the Bear refuge and checking out the huge clan of black bears! All in all our time at Bear Head was fun, relaxing, and most of all beautiful. I recommend it to anyone looking to really experience the great outdoors, without having to sacrifice certain basic amenities.

Two of the male bears (Ted and Lucky) were out having a lunch of grapes, watermelon, cranberries, apricots, and lettuce. ...

Whew! The world feels so much cleaner after a hot shower and 2 gin and tonics! What an adventure we've had the past week. Saturday night at Nelson's resort was a very cold one! It was in the 30s and I wondered how I was going to do it in a tent for 5 nights, but alas, the Azetc gods of all things warm kept the heat turned up here. It was probably the warmest first week of September (for Minn) in ages. It ...
