540 miles today. Left Nevada traveled thru Arizona, Utah & finally Colorado. We are now in Glenwood Springs. Funny thing we have been out west in '05, '10 & now '14. Every time I plan a trip the mileage just seems to bring us to this town. Every time we also eat at a local Mexican place (MaryAnn....Ola!!!!!). Nice little town about mid state. Whitewater Rafting adventure was great! I must admit that the wet suits, while we looked a little dorky, we were not feeling the cold (45 degree water) as much as the others in our boat and other boats. Good investment!

We got to the campground (not bad location, less truckstop like...) the plan was decided for tomorrow, whitewater rafting and zip line adventure. A little coaxing was needed for a few of the members, but it would be a go!

... Springs, it’s just off I-70 so no long drive up rough roads necessary. The hike also involves a specific destination and (although quite steep) is not very long.

While on most backcountry hikes in Colorado you mostly see very fit people and their dogs, the trail to Hanging Lake is filled with chubbies and oldsters from the lowlands who rarely do much walking other than the aisles ...
