My master packing skills have taken first place yet again; 14 days worth of business casual, dress and vacation wear is packed into one carry-on bag. Another large tote holds all of my books, binder, notebooks, electronics and a change of clothes. Two bags for the next two weeks. I've certainly done this before; three weeks living from my suitcase is the actual record (but at least there was a washing machine at the vacation ...

We decided yesterday to get some information about the Myrtle Beach area so we signed up for a three hour tour in an open jeep that can hold up to 14 people plus the driver. When we arrived at the meeting point, there were 12 folks so we had a "little" more room.

The tour took us through the heart of old Myrtle Beach where we learned that the area was originally developed by three families who would sell a 60 foot wide lot for $25 and if you put at least $500 ...

Drove 200 miles in 4 hours.

    Highlights

Another beach resort where the reputation does not live up to reality. A really disappointing beach with little to offer but strip malls and cheap high rise motels.

The motels are all at least 40 years old and ...
