    ... around a corner and have a huge motorhome in their face! They hadn't even gotten to the 26.2 mile run yet. I can only imagine what they were worried would come at them during THAT portion of the race!
    We found a KOA that had one spot left and parked it!
    I did some laundry while Mike took the dogs out to chase down any straggling Iron ...

    ... mark that's been there for approximately 60 years.. A sweet girl car hop came out and greeted us and took our order. We sat at the picnic tables out doors and enjoyed this special hot dog treat. A hot dog smothered in chilli flavoured finely minced beef. You must eat 2 of these little doggies to fully enjoy the experience!

    Can't believe we're camping on the shores of Lake Champlain!!! We've had incredible experiences in this area of New York. This state continues to keep us on our toes!! We had an amazing hike through the Ausable Chasm where the river was rushing through a canyon of steep walls with incredible force (especially after several big storms the days before our visit.

    ... Loj ( the trail blazer that founded the recreational area liked phonetics… Loj is pronounced lodge). The campground was down a long winding road with the last mile consisting of more pot holes in the gravel road than road itself. It's a very rustic campground, no electric at all. They suggest campers to dig small 6 inch holes for their human waste and cover it up with soil (there was a bathroom, but we were encouraged to use it minimally). We pulled ...

    ... three or four bedrooms in addition to a living room with HUGE rock fireplace, dining room, kitchen and bathroom. No electricity, we had kerosene lamps and a two burner kerosene stove. The kitchen porch had an icebox, filled two or three times a week with ice which had been cut out of the lake in the winter and stored in sawdust in the Icehouse for the summer. No hot water, you heated what you needed on the stove- baths were taken in the lake. No telephone, ...
