... off the ferry, we realized that maybe we had stayed on the wrong side of Lake Champlain. Plattsburgh had a beautiful state park right on the water with camping and a beach. Plus there were restaurants nearby. We took a scenic route south through Plattsburgh along the lake. It was a nice ride and we saw a lot of beautiful homes where the affluent people live on the lake.

We met the couple there and they told us about a ghost town nearby so we went to check that out and saw them again. As we chatted they told us about Evergreen B&B which you join and then get to go to B&Bs for $$12 a night including breakfast - a great deal. And they said the people were fabulous and friendly.

Drove 534 miles in a tad under 10 hours.
Pretty slim for the highlights reel on a drive this long. We got away around 11 am after enjoying the Cleveland IPA's just a little too much.
Luckily the weather was perfect and the road easy. Once we got out of town our iPhone map advised that had 346 miles on the same road, a record for the trip I believe.
