... jsut said "Its a long story" before stumbling off. Turns out she got stranded on rocks when the tide came in and had to spend the night there alone. Horrible. Looked like a good decision to get a guide then.

... the day we had to cross the sketchiest bridge I’ve ever seen. I would have felt considerably safer trying to swim across the river then risk going over on this thing. Basically the structure consisted of 4 pieces of dried (hollow) bamboo, laid across random two by fours every few feet.
