... way into town but Im also just dying to get to town and find a pit stop for the night. I decide to wander down to the cave and river first as its still early/mid afternoon and the last boat is at 4pm. The river runs through the cave and is a gorgeous blue green crystal clear colour. There are fish galore in the water - big fish about 30cms and a few bigger ones closer to 50cms. Its exciting to see such a healthy river system and its all mine to play in!!! After chatting ...

... big town, as the road was in such bad condition. After some homemade pastries, we set off in earnest and after 20km of gravel and dust, the road did get worse. We were basically driving on the sand/stones of the road that is being laid at the moment, so no tarmac is down yet. After shaking ourselves silly, dodging diggers and getting extremely dusty, we actually arrived in Lashao after 2 1/2 hours and so had more time than expected for the afternoon. We drove 6km ...

... we organized lunch and we had a chance to swim in the pool inside the cave! It was brilliant! And the surroundings were just breath-taking! Just check out the photos attached. Word will not reflect it, unless you are an artisticly spoken writer, which, obviously I am not...
In the late afternoon we got to the village. It was surrounded with beautiful karst mountains and it was indeed in the middle of nowhere. We all had a well deserved Beerlao and went ...
