We decided to go to Tahoe using a Worldmark deal. We stayed the night in El Dorado with Robin on December 29th to help break up the drive. We left bright and early to drop JT off at Heavenly daycare and we went boarding. Well we happened to go on a day where it's Tahoes coldest and windiest. We only did a few runs because only 2 lifts were opened, Stagecoach and comet. The visibility was so bad and he wind was worse. When there was a gust of wind, it was impossible to see. It ...

We managed to call the owners work and eventually her husband found us on the beach ...

... it and it made for a relaxing morning.

We met up with Cindy and Abby at Idlewild Park by the river. I got to catch up with them, and the kids had a great time. Brenna and her family joined us later, and then we all went out for dinner. It's hard for me to believe that I hadn't seen them in over 10 years. We used to get together all the time when I was a kid, but we all moved away. It meant a lot to see all ...

... forests and over the Cascades to the east side. The highest point was 5900 feet. Of course, there were the down slopes of 5% or 6% grade. It was low gear time!

After the Cascades came the Sierra Nevada Mountains. We drove through a broad valley with ranches on both sides of the road. We saw lots of cows grazing on open range and a few irrigated fields. There were also sheep and a few alpacas. As we got closer ...
