... this beautiful city. We joined a free walking tour to see the sights and get some direction...the guide proved to be overly sarcastic, to the point where we didn't know if he was joking about a 'historical fact' or just having a laugh so we left mid way to suss it ourselves. On the tour we saw Dan the pom staying in our bunk on the overnight train, we left the tour and asked if he wanted to go exploring with us. ... of Our Lady before Tyn, the Old Town Square, the Old Theater and the Dancing House.
After the tour, on our own, we went to the Jewish Center and visited the synagogue. It was a highly recommended attraction, but left Mom and I underwhelmed and feeling a bit ripped off. The building was not that spectacular on the inside and was very small. Not worth the price of admission. The best part of the Jewish Quarter was the peek ...

... some potato salad. I like the chicken and cucumber but I am not a potato salad gal. Dinner was a great chance to meet other AIFS students and to see a little bit of Czech. Plus eating this made me realize why there were so many KFC stores. Czech love battered and deep fried chicken.
After that I crashed in my bed and just went to sleep. My body craved sleep and then some.

... six or seven hundred years ago.
We walked across the Charles Bridge (if there were no tourists the place would have been empty -it was packed), had a trip on the river and short visit to the main square and Jewish Quarter before the tour ended and we recovered with a few drinks and some bread, meat and cheese in the main square.
Happily there was nothing of interest in the Swarovski shop but certain people may benefit from a little place across the street.
