We ate at Inn Bufalito, which specializes in buffalo products (like buffalo mozzarella or salami), but has many other delicious things to try. ... The sun was bright and we were grateful that we had remembered our hats.

Returning to Pompeii, we wandered through the town. The first drawback was that our audio guide kept wanting to take us down roads that were closed due to restoration efforts. But the biggest drawback was the sheer size of Pompeii. And then… finally I reach Cava di Tirreni, which not only has a large train station still in use on Christmas, but also a beautiful old city, with open restaurants and even a gelateria!
