Today we took the metro to see the old Prague Castle. It was up the hill on the other side of the river, and there were great views back across the city. There was a little bit of rain so we looked inside the Old Castle (where the second defenestration of Prague took place) which was just a stone shell basically from old times. Early start at -5deg.... back across the Charles bridge and up the hill to the Prague Castle. Managed to get there in time for the changing of the guards. The cathedral inside is incredible. At lunch time we headed off on a tour underground under the town hall and astronomical clock ...

... its toll. Not feeling in the mood for one myself, I was treated to tea and biscuits in the perfumed waiting room while I read my book, which was just as much of a treat!

We wandered back to the tram over the Charles Bridge, famous for its 30 sculptures carved along each side of the balustrade. With fingers crossed that our tram line had been repaired, we caught the tram back to the campsite, hoping for fine weather for our final day in the city. ...
