      ... lot of the old town). At the peak of this area stands the Prague Castle, home to the Prague monarchy and various politicians. It was quite spectacular, with a cathedral in the centre of the castle. The cathedral was somewhat reminiscent of the style used for Notre Dame.       ... conversation was good humoured and coherent, not any person had had 'too much' ... it was just a very enjoyable and friendly gathering ... accompanied by this relentless consumption of very good beer. I am sure that a similar gathering back home in Australia consuming beer in this manner would have seen at least a few people making gits of themselves, falling over and at least one person starting a fight of some description.

      Friday 2 May 2014 So I caught my mitfahrtgahliegenheit and arrived in Berlin in the evening. The people on my ride didn't really speak English/didn't want to speak English, so I had a pretty quiet ride, listening to Hamish and Andy podcasts and napping. I then met my couchsurfing host Fanni, a nice girl with a big smile and a quirky accent. She's vegetarian, trying to be vegan and owns a cat. I found out that night I was allergic to her cat... so it was a bit of a restless ...

      ... The tram didn’t stop where we thought it would, so we ended up running a long way to get there in time.

      We met our tour guide Jana and group at the astronomical clock. She had the funniest accent ever, which made it quite hard to understand at the start. She loved to extenuate random words, as if to be comical, for example, 'Ere you can ziiiiiii the church of saint jaaaaaamessss.’ She was a fantastic guide though, and a lovely lady.
