So another week's gone by in South Africa. Time is going so fast, I'm half way through my stay now!

From Monday to Friday last week I was back up in Mariepskop Mountains doing small mammal research. We stay in little wood cabins half way up the mountains which is really good fun. We were more successful this time, catching mice, rats and shrews. We take data on them to ...

On the way back to the lodge I was deep in thought; was I more like a Wildebeest (a bit dim and made up of parts from lots of different animals - in my case ancestrial lineage in different countries)or a Honey Badger (a bit of a nark but fearless and doesn't give up without a fight). But then we saw a baby Giraffe with it's mum on the grounds of our lodge so I never made my decision.
