... A bit unnerving as all the locals were there so we quickly got a tuk tuk back to the hotel. Tomorrow we are off to Uruwala on safari. It will be about a 3 hour drive north of here so we are staying over tomorrow night then going on safari to see the elephants etc early Tuesday morning. Cannot wait to see some elephants in the wild!!!! The wifi will be worse in the jungle so I still won't be able to upload the pictures but will do ASAP. ...

... to turn all of that around. Jerry started off by apologising and gave me a beer but it wasn't his fault. He explained it happens a lot round here and the drivers are always trying to find ways of making extra money. Unfortunately for our driver we didn't give him any extra money and he must have wasted a lot of petrol along with our time. Jerry's place looked like something you would find on an episode of cribs. ... one that is getting to me the most. If they only understood how much better it would be for everyone if they just used the damn nappies!! The kids get sick all of the time, I wonder why? Jut to add in there aswel, Janaka was there in the evening a few times and couldn't understand why ALL of the children were fast asleep at 7pm. He then found lots of empty bottles of 'perfume'. He asked why there were so many empty bottles, they use it to put in the milk to get the kids to sleep. ...

One or two of the more polyglot might try a word or two of German but I doubt there is a tuk-tuk driver in the country that speaks Cypriot Greek (which I learned and is slightly different to Greek Greek) spoken with a broad Northern Irish intonation. Works every time and they usually retreat pdq. Yes, it is puerile but it amuses me when they get too much as they often do.
