Hello!

We are now fully settled in, so we thought we'd let you all know whats been happening! When we arrived in Queenstown we were staying in Pinewood Lodge which was alright, but a bit spooky and there was a strange smell around the place. We had a massive unit to ourselves which was good, but the place was massive and it was a bit …

Wow... we don't even know where to begin. Queenstown has been absolutely mental. The most amazing place ever!!! We have done so much its hard to know where to begin! This is going to be a lengthy blog I'm afraid!!

We literally arrived in Queenstown and the next moment we were on the bus heading to the Nevis... the biggest bungy in New …

Simply put: Queenstown is one of the coolest places on Earth. It's the adventure and ski capital of NZ, and the height of ski season when I arrived. Although I didn't do any skiing (due to funds more than anything), there was such a good bustling vibe to this town. Just full of people there for a good time, and falling out of the skies. You could …

Is it a Sound or a Fiord? That is the question....

Many of the Drop bears booked in to go to Milford Sound the morning after we arrived and needed to be ready to go by 6.30 am!!!!!! It was early, but as we found out - well worth the effort. We left when it was still dark and snoozed until we got to Te Anua where we had the opportunity to eat, drink coffee and stock up for lunch. the scenery along …

    Really good.

Pinewood lodge is a nice place and I enjoy staying here. But it is a problem that my cabin hasn't had hot water for nearly two days. And it hasn't been fixed.

Good facilities, beds are too soft for 2 people to sleep in but each room has a single so couples have the option of sleeping in 2 beds. Great service from the reception people and a fantastic common area for all the lodge residents to use - greaat if you are in a group of 8 or more

Just on the edge on town (5 minutes walk) this ski lodge has a great layout with individual blocks having anywhere from 2-6 bedrooms with a kitchen and living room in each. It's nothing spectacular but the price is good and the place is clean and has all the facilities you need.
