The new dam wall is being built by Brookfield and I had an interesting chat with the clients Engineering Manager. The site has to close from Christmas until May each year because of the icy conditions. Some of the guys will work those months on another company project in Alabama, but most just go onto Unemployment Benefits. That is apparently normal.

It was such a pleasure spending time with all of my new friends that I met during an awesome program. It was a great experience getting to know each one individually and be able to share a little of our lives with one another.
However, I do want to dedicate this final post to the eldest member of our crew, Kelly of Claryville, N.Y. Kelly has to be the coolest 90-year-old woman I have ever met.

Today I used an app on my phone that uses GPS to track where you skied on the mountain, how far you traveled and what your top speed was. Today we traveled a distance of 31 miles (including chair lift rides) and my speed topped out at 52.7 miles per hour.

... get to the airport, but not in time to make our flight. We finally arrived home after about a 36 hour, sleepless for the most part, sojourn. We are happy to be home, and very happy to have had this wonderful opportunity to explore this heartland of Mexico.
