... clearing for coffee and Amarula (South African Cream Liquer made from the marula fruit) and are joined by the two other vehicles which shared in our rhino viewing. Stories are swapped and soon we are off to return to Billy's Lodge. Along the way, Conrad (who does not excite) becomes animated. Josh slams on the brakes. Conrad, Josh and Ashley all kneel in front of our Range Rover and new excitement is apparent. They have found ...

... we decided to set up camp and return when the day was cooler. Our next few drives weren't quite as successful, only spotting elephants, zebras and giraffes ( which are exciting at first but the bar had been set pretty high) and only a hyena on our sunset drive. Slightly disappointed after a great morning, we settled in for the night and as the rest of the group played on DS games and watched 'the lovely bones' on a laptop, Emma and I rested on ...

... drive in an open vehicle, and an armed guide. We left the camp at 20:00 to return at 22:00. The Shingwedzi camp organization seemed to be lacking somewhat. When we arrived and 19:45 for our departure, the personnel did not seem to be informed of our night drive. Several calls were made and with a five minute delay we were with truck, one guide and blankets. ...
