... red wine. We bought a bottle for our next Red Wine Club meeting and sampled the strawberry and plum elixirs. Very sweet but very nice. Lunch that day was at a panoramic taverna with stunning views over the island. Skiathos really is scenically beautiful. So, on with the exploration, we eventually came across Kastano perched high up on a rocky face on the northern most tip of the island. Originally a small village of 200 houses, 40 churches and 1500 people, it has a ...

We had a very comfortable and interesting train ride through green rolling hills and Greek villages to Volos in transit to the pretty island of Skopelos . After not a great night of sleep ... A large breakfast, much needed for Parker. Taxi comes in a few to take us to airport. Another Ryan Air flight. Up and down no problems... Off we go to Rothenburg! Ends up being a wonderful evening! A quick stop at a beergarden for a couple beers and a traditional dish of potato noodles with saurcrout , bacon bits and gravy. A nice wall around town, Old Town Historic Walk, Night Watchman's Tour, Walk the Wall .... Off to bed in down comforters and ...

Our last day in hydra started out with us waking around around 830. We made breakfast again and then hung out in the room until 11:30. We decided to see if we could catch the earlier boat out of the harbor. Luckily we were able to change it with 5 minutes to spare or we wouldn't have left until 3 hours later. We took a metro to the Athens train station. We grabbed a gyros to go then boarded the 5 hour train. ...

Markets, gyros and the Acropolis

... hung over (possibly still drunk) belly!! We walked for god knows how long, and in whatever direction looked good. We saw so many market stalls and beautiful clothes - which you would have thought would be cheaper but they were between 50&70 euro!! We came across a friend from last night who joined us on our travels. We kept walking through the markets and town, through to the old roman ruins of the library under the acropolis, and then found some amazing back streets and had a ...
