... back, and realised it was chicken rice I had ordered, the same as I had earlier in the day (Al was drunk, and I was blind!) - we also saw the dutch family from the boat tour (funny story, will tell later_)\\
Nexst morning, we got the boat and then the local bus to the border, wandered very easily across the border. across the really rickety bridge, that moved when I walked on it, and then a massive lorry or two came across!! and into Costa Rica...!
... night of the week.
Wednesday and Saturday are the big ones when aqua lounge is the place to be, unless your feeling really adventurous and after a big swim you need to take a water taxi across because the bar isnt on the main island. The bar is built over the water so the boat drops you off right there, and after a quick scan with the metal detector your free to go nuts.
The place is insane, its a deck over the water with a big hole cut in it at one place for a swimming pool ...
... sitting on stilts above the waters edge. The whole town painted in pastel pinks, blues, violets and creams. The town gives the impression that it holds the infamous Amity Island circa 1975 as it's idol, impersonating it at every street corner, the expectation of Roy Scheider and Richard Dreyfuss appearing many of the boats lining the sea wall.
After an exceptional dinner of chicken stuffed with cream cheese and sundried tomatoes, and for Alessandra a Fillet steak ...
... couple of good ones of Scott. By the way, Chichi, has no name yet. They wait until the children are 3 -5 to name them to see what their personality dictates their name should be. Really cool concept I think.

Including the Thai restaurant on Isla Bastimentos, which required a high level of difficulty to get to and from.
So the moral of the Bocas del Toro story is...
Go there. As soon as you can. Swim. Drink cheap beer. Eat good/cheap food. And dont bring a machete.
... comfortably or walk VERY quickly toward the water where the sand is cooled by the waves which wash up on the beach. I was in the sun for an hour and that again, was enough. After the heat, it was time to head inside to cool off. It was about 1:00 p.m. and felt like 6:00 p.m. I enjoy getting up early as I don't want to miss a moment of this fabulous vacation. I still see no signs of hummingbirds! We then walked around looking for ...
Puerto Viejo de Talamanca, Costa Rica rfritzjr... ground chunks of roasted cocoa beans. It has a taste reminiscent of coffee. Finally, off to snorkelling. The primary goal of the day. But first, food. Uhhh, problem. We spent all of our money on chocolate. We ask Erwin if the restaurant takes credit card. He says yes, although we are sceptical. So we get to Coral Cay, a good distance from the home. 30 minutes by boat. Guess ...
