... Atalaya. 30 mins later we were in a town called Pilcopata where we had lunch. It was here where we picked up the boat drivers who went ahead to try and find an early car to Cusco and another guy who was going to Cusco (there is no real Public Transportation so people get rides where they can). Most of the trip I listened to music and was in a semi-sleep. We only stopped in one other town for a quick break, Paucartambo. Then 7 or 8 hours later we ...

· This morning was a really busy one. There was a problem with amongst the workers who clean the rooms and they wanted Claudia to handle it. So, I had them talk to her online and they seem to have worked something out with her although I do not know what. It was really hot this morning but that quickly went away when it started to downpour.

... a pretty short temper.

· The most interesting news is that Claudia is starting a mini vacation tomorrow and because of that Jeff and I have obtained new jobs. Starting tomorrow we will now be the two managers of the lodge. Jeff will be responsible for greeting the tourists, giving the briefing, and making sure the rooms are all squared away before and after arrival. My job is to be the liaison in a way to the office in Cusco ...

Sept 30

- Today we started the filming of the Macaws with Jim. However, when we first got to the island it was decided that we would need a special boat without a roof so that Jim would be able to film without restrictions. There was already a boat being fixed up that did not have a roof so a bunch of people from the island chipped in and got it ready for tomorrow.

· While we were waiting for that, Jim attempted to film ...

Jungle Fever

... experience that I was searching for and that Cusco, with all its comforts and conveniences, was unable to provide. It was here that I felt away from everything. This last week really put me outside of my comfort zone, bringing me as close to nature as I think I'll ever get, and had me really enjoying the company of my friends, even if it was just to play a game of cards under the candlelight...

The Bushmaster Snake!!

... and in turn she translated to us that he was embarrassed by the fish as it was very small and he usually catches bigger - ah, the one that got away eh........!   We found that very funny and everyone was laughing, at which point he began to laugh and held the fish up for us to take photos.   We returned for breakfast, late once more, then had about half hour before our next adventure. We were doing another jungle walk this morning, I was really looking forward to this as this is when we ...

The Chair

... before the jungle began to wake, there were birds and monkeys beginning to call out, small birds started flitting in and out of the tree we were sat in and eventually at a distance we could see Red Howler monkeys and Spider monkeys starting to come out onto the branches of trees. A toucan flew into our tree, just feet from where we were standing, I never ever expected to be so lucky, to see a toucan this close up - the time was passing so quickly, it ...

... t stay away from us too long... Marc and Kim, the Dutch couple we´ve seen since Santa Cruz, were already in Copacabana and were in a great hotel called the Mirador, so we checked in. This hotel was right on the beach overlooking this amazing lake. I say lake, but it looks more like an ocean it´s so big. It was the perfect place after a stay in a big city and a great last stop in Bolivia. The next day the 6 of us had planned to go to the Isla del Sol (island of the sun ...

Our time in la Paz

Hola amigos! From Dumb and Dumber a new adventure (Andrew is Dumber of course)! So we finally arrived in la Paz after freezinbg our asses off on this night bus from Uyuni. We were also seated in the front seat and you must know that the old local people carrying fresh lamb meat all like the front seat too, so we travelled happily together. Andrew: I´m all over the "it´s their country and we are guests" thing, but this boiled down to 12 hours next to some very old and very smelly ...

Manu Jungle Adventure Tour

4 days and 3 nights in the Manu jungle area. Hi, Seth here to tell you about our incredible trip into the jungle. The first day started with a ass-numbing 8-hour bus ride over unpaved roads deep into the jungle. I am still not used to these crazy roads, single lane, two-way, no guard rails, skidding bouncing tires sometimes inches from huge drop-offs, talented drivers. Caroline says, "you get used to it," but It´s still a carnival ride to me. The ride was broken up by walks and bird ...
