And That's a Wrap!

... get along great. I’m not sure we needed to travel around the world to confirm this standard family dynamic;

· Goal: Create a better family bond between ourselves and the children. Result: Exceeded expectations. We really are able to talk about anything now with the kids (including the odiferous repercussions of a fajita night – okay, you’re right, we could talk about that before we left);

So, overall, the trip was everything we ...

this store is seriously where everybody goes for everything. they
have life jackets to gifts, from lumber for fire to a fresh fruit

right next door to the grocery store however, is an icecream
parlour. the whole look of the place is rundown shack but as soon as
you enter the store

you start to smell all kind of delecious things. turns out, the
store makes its own waffle cones and icecream. they had epic dark ...

Here we go! Monday we leave

Left aligned photo tag: Starting to Plan our trip! So Exciting. We will be travelling to Amora on the 2nd of March via London [where we hear we will have a hectic transfer with lots of time on our hands arriving at 9 AM London time and leaving at 3:30 to arrive on the 3rd of March in Lisbon] Whew! I'm already tired. Good thing we have several days to rest up before our roadtrip to France!

Something always comes up...

We were supposed to leave early Sunday morning, but there were some last minute repairs on my truck that needed to be taken care of. Everything is all fixed now and in perfect working order, so that means we will be on the road first thing Wednesday morning. Better late than never.

BIKE TRIP: What made the trip all worthwhile

... with its hoof caught on a wire fence - what a sad sight! The moose must have been scared by the car and tried to jump the fence but didnt' make it. If we did not do something, it would surely die. It's hard to say whether the moose was a cow or a bull because the males lose their horns every fall and do not grow back until mid spring. We flagged down a car and they went for the police, before long, a crowd had gathered and when the ...

BIKE TRIP: Against the wind...

In driving rain and cold, with the wind powering into us, we continued on in harsh conditions for about 14 km from Bobcaygeon to Fenlon Falls. The wind was so strong that we even had to pedal downhill! We kept our heads down and just worked at reaching a destination where we could stop for the night.
Along the way we pulled into Red Rock ...

BIKE TRIP:The constellations revealed themselves..

All I knew of Bobcaygeon was the song by The Tragically Hip. The tree of us rocked up into this small tourist town for lunch. This is where the first lock on the Trent Severn water system was built in 1834. The town itself ws founded in 1832 by a British emigrant, Thomas Need. The word Bobcaygeon is from the Missassauga Indian language for 'shallow rapids'. I read all this information on the menu at a pub called Lock ...

Kapitel 2 / Chapter 2

Kapitel 2: Fenelon Falls 8. April - 10.

Solstice at Calabogie Peaks

... I have to go back and rent skis, which isn't' too costly but it's time consuming when I'm so anxious to hit the slopes - it's been over a year! The ski was great. Cold temperatures but not too cold. Great day. Great to be out on winter solstice enjoying winter!
