... my rearview mirror, it was the young couple that got to the ranger station right after we left. At the trailhead we both parked and they raced out of there up the trail. I think they actually wanted to be the first to the abandoned ranger station on one of the peaks...cool. Busy day yesterday just shopping. We went first to the Premium Outlets at Quida Vida or something similar. All the high end shops were there so didn't spend much. Did get a pair of travel pants and shirt at Eddie Bauer. There isn’t much that I need and I also have to carry it back home.

We kept following the road and we ended up on a ferry which took us over to the town of Everett. and then crossed the Highway 5 and headed east towards Mount Baker. We also saw a place which had a fence build from old Snow ski"s..all on the wrong side of the road with too much traffic to stop ...

It was great gathering ourselves after the whirlwind couple of weeks, getting ready to beat it out of our house. So, we hung out.

But the next day, getting ready to head for the Wenachee track to watch Joe race (always ...

... haven of family stories and fun. I stayed in Eugene and recovered/visited for a week or so and Zach came and stayed a couple of days before heading east to Utah to get after some ski patrolling at Park City. Meanwhile, I headed back to Smith Rock to live for a minute or two. Besides building my strength, reading several different books, and working on medical school apps at Dudley's and Green Plow, I had to go to my follow up appt. to get cleared to climb. Once Harry ...
