We spent a bit of time looking around and taking photos and headed back before it became dark. We passed the Old Man Rock on the way back to Takaka and had an amazing dinner at "The Eatery on the Rocks" where I had deep sea fish which was prepared to absolute perfection. Pat and Chris are the owners and operators of the restaurant and accommodation.

... to say the least! Thanks to the rain check, our first day in Nelson was spent pottering around the city, doing a supermarket shop and going to see a film. Exciting adventurous sports obviously...thankfully we woke the next morning to bright blue skies which made everything a bit better :-)

Off we went down to feed the eels after our own feed of course, you get a little pot with minced up chicken in it and a long lolly stick to feed them from.
