    We had lunch at terrace restaurant along main street lining the Donau before finding and negotiating a 4.5 hr Delta boat tour. A handful of boatmen were lining the riverfront by their signboards advertising up to 6 different tour routes ranging from one to three hours.

    ... fact that he had actually arranged it so that he would act as translator (he speaks Romanian too) to the four of us. Despite this, the boat trip was enjoyable, as we motored past reed swamps, lakes, canals and wildlife, getting stuck in closed-up and little-used channels, soaked up the blazing sun and later sheltered beneath a tree from a truly epic thunderstorm.
