... at the entrance and disappear into the park. There's no turnover in the lots. The shuttles extend out into the neighboring town to extend the parking. It was high afternoon so there was no room at the inn for us. We continued through the scenic UT-9 corridor of the park. Here we passed beautifully sculpted pink mesas and orange mountains. ... temps at about 84 degrees and a nice breeze. Roy may have lost to Eric on the Deer Hunter game last night, but he claims he won the "who can catch the most fish" contest. Two tiny blue gill vs. a big long hunk of lake grass! Lol! An older lady fishing from the other platform had two beautifully sized trout on her lines. Oh well, the day was perfectly lovely and relaxed even if we didn't catch much.

... about a 30 mile jaunt. I checked my food, water, and snack situation and forged ahead. I encounters sand in many places but not nearly as loose and as deep as what I got stuck in. Some parts were so bumpy I wished I had a kidney belt but if I went a little faster it seemed to feel smoother. The scenery was fantastic. I stopped 20 miles in for a snack and a rest.
