      ... cap. At first we didn't realize he was an officer, however he carried a side arm and tazer. We approached him and I asked if he'd mind if I took a photo. Andrew introduced himself as a police officer and asked about the uniform. The Officer explained that the pants and cap were a form of protest across a number of government agencies against the City wanting to cut retirement pensions.

      Today was a good day exploring Vermont. We saw lots of great covered bridges. Designed like this to stop the bridges getting icy and also to preserve their longevity.       ... and again there have been a lot of passengers getting on. Most seats are taken. Just looked at the map and discovered we are basically following the Connecticut River until it reaches the sea. It is actually quite difficult typing this as the train rocks along at a tremendous pace and there aren't enough stops to provide periods of stability!!!
