The initial rapids were quite tame so hopes were high for the post lunch leg as we were advised that the rapids were wild from that point on....and they were!

... south in Montana towards Idaho were notable for the abrupt scenery changes. The first 100 miles was spent tracking cherry and huckleberry orchards as we drove alongside the vast Flat Head lake, with summer being so short here it was an amazing display of resilience by these beautiful fruits and we had to stop by one of the many roadside carts to pick up some fresh sweet cherries for the journey.

Wow. The day isn't even over yet and it's been a wonderful one so far. Scott and I woke up to an empty house- today was the day that we'd leave for his dad's cabin in McCall. We swiftly ate breakfast- granola with raspberries, blueberries, and banana slices. Afterwards, we packed our bags. How sweet is Scott. His gentle touches on the hip or shoulder as he walks by me. His soft little perfumed kisses on my cheek to let me know of his love. Just a sweet heart. ...

... then until 1954 it served as an asylum, nursing home and restaurant before being abandoned in disrepair in 1991. It was repurchased in 2007 and with a lot of work the hotel is being brought back to its former glory- in spite of the ghosts that reside there. Oooooh!
