The Lodge was very simple and located very close to the Grand Canyon. The rooms were clean but a bit small for 4 persons and luggage.

Had a terrible nights sleep last night, I think it was because I was so excited to see the Grand Canyon today. Just couldn't contain myself! Had to have bags ready for pickup at 6.30am. Early start after rubbish sleep = irritated Alana. We stopped at a little town on Route 66 for lunch, which I can't remember the name of. One word to describe it …

Just priceless and we …

After our fantastic day at Monument Valley we were up and headed off to reach the Grand Canyon. It was a beautiful day and once again the view on the way was great. We stopped at a few trading posts on the way to fuel up both the car and ourselves and looked at the Native American items you could buy.

So off we went and walked around in the snow to the railway station that pointed us in the direction of the village visitors centre. We took in a movie of the history of the Grand Canyon and checked out the exhibits. Then we were …
