This was my second trip to Aspen; my last trip was back in March 2012. I departed Boston on Friday on the 3:30pm UAL flight to Denver. The flight was more or less on time, at least by United standards. Upon arrival in Denver I had time to grab a Club Sandwich at Woody Creek Cafe prior to my flight to Aspen. ... people skiing were like pros and even the kids were good! There were some cuties that wouldn't have been older than three taking the lifts up and skiing down by themselves - MAD!! There is a great bar out the front of our hotel that looks out to the slopes called Vega Vega and we indulged in a cocktail or two for happy our after our days skiing.

All in all our ski experience was amazing and totally worth going five star all the way.

After the excitement of the World Cup weekend we needed a quieter day to recharge our batteries. So a sleep in was in order and very much enjoyed. Buena Vista is a very pleasant mountain town and we spent the day preparing for the trail (not quite knowing what that was). Bikes checked. Gear checked and a couple of trips to outdoor store to get our rehydrated meals/power bars/energy drinks etc. 1 cooked meal per day for upto 7 days was the plan with bars etc on the way.
