      ... time seems to paradoxically slow down to a relaxed pace, yet speed up such that each day disappears before you know it. My normal day here starts with waking up at 645am and heading out to dive, coming back at 3pm, working out, eating dinner, then crashing in bed at 9pm.       ... costing ~$50 a dive, which is probably comparable to the price of an ecstasy pill. One can probably make a half decent argument on which is more dangerous!       ... fishing rights. It is a tale we have heard across West Africa. The Chinese seem to have a finger in everyone's pie.

      In the afternoon we took a trip out to the old Cidade Velha. We saw the enormous fort overlooking this village, and finished the day perfectly by wandering round ancient cobbled streets with names like Rue de Banana followed by a drink overlooking the sea.
