Get up at 4am to be taken to Siren from san pedrillo. From here its about 20km to the ranger station at los patos. Its a tough walk through one of the best rainforest in the world. Unfortunately doing it in this direction involves quite a bit of uphill. Takes about 8 hours trekking to reach los patos<br>

... Park. There we saw anteaters and a pack of gouatis foraging for Halloween Crabs, as well as many species of birds, including Long Billed Toucans. Why am I suddenly craving Fruit Loops? Though difficult to reach this remote area, we were rewarded by the peace and tranquility of no electricity at night, no traffic; only the brilliant stars blanketing the sky and the waves lapping the shore to lull us to sleep.

Overall our departure from Sirena was uneventful. There was a moments debate over what path to take, after which we made our way along the trail that led out onto the beach. We took one last look behind at Sirena Station, and realized that the trail we were walking on also acted as a runway for occasional planes. This place really was make shift and rustic.
