Peace Out Nelson: Heading North
Well drinking wine in the park wasnt the best idea when we had to catch the bus early at the paradiso. We are heading to the ferry terminal in Picton in the rain and catching the ferry to Wellington. I had to take a Gravol as we wound up the roads up the hill 380 metres. I tried to enjoy the view but had to sleep. We arrived at Picton ferry …
Wellington
On the 14th we drove to Wellington. Wellington was the first place we felt at a disadvantage having a car as not many hostels offer parking. Really disappointed with the accomodation 'Lodge in the City', one of the most expensive places we have stayed yet it was a dump with unfriendly staff & bad atmosphere, only good thing I could say is it …

Day Thirteen - Wellington
I got up early to get out of the freezing hostel, and returned to the Pukaha Mount Bruce National Wildlife Centre, where I spent an hour or so walking around the one kilometre path with various cages for different birds. My 2+ months in Wellington
09-Feb - 03-May: I planned to work temporarily here in Wellington. It's my first and only application for a job when I arrived here in NZ. It was really not as easy as I …

Worst place ever

We booked this 'lodge' online, so for 14 dollars per night you can get a bunk, which, we found out, is pretty cheap for a country like New Zealand.
The beds in the dorm are decent, there is just enough space but nothing to worry about. Douches are warm and there is a large (enough) kitchen to fix your meals (although culteries are scarce)
Just make sure you book online (booking.com will do) so you don't pay too much money in this expensive country!

The hostel is massive and so the kitchen is usually packed throughout the day and usually dirty with overflowing bins by lunch time that are still there in the evening.
The rooms however are spacious and the bed linen was clean and comfy.
This hostel would be fine if your only passing through but i wouldn't stay too long here.
