... weather being great again, we head off to see the Royal Mews. This is not a bunch of cats performing a chorus, it is the Queen's horses and carriages. This time we take the bus. We haven't tried this mode of transportation and who wouldn't want to ride a double decker bus? So we figure out our route (they have an app for that) and off we go. One bus will take us right to Buckingham Palace. We sit up in the top and have amazing views of our trip, more picture opportunities!

The flight was fantastic! We got to see a beautiful Arizona sunset as we were taking off (see pictures below).

Fingers crossed anyway. We ...

... everything was. We weren't too sure what to expect. Upper Class? Were we about to walk in to a scene from Downton Abbey? Would my Primark jacket hold up to scrutiny? We were about to find out. The Club House was relatively empty. No Lord Granthams. No fashion police. Was this the calm before the storm?

Roisin had done her research and identified that the Club House had a spa area known as the Cowshed. This is a place set aside for treatments: Hair, ...

We went to London because Alan needed to make several presentations at an international tax administration research conference sponsored by Her Majesy's Revenue and Customs in London (i.e., the UK's IRS). The conference took all day on Monday 20th and Tuesday 21st. We decided that it would be neat for Carol to go, as well (now that she's retired from homeschooling), particularly since Wednesday 22nd was her birthday. We also decided to stay there ...
