... off my feet. The wood was amazing, big thick beams and polished floors. There were the slits in the walls to shoot arrows through as well as some side ramps where they could roll stones down onto anyone trying to climb up the walls. The walk back to the train was quite nice, detouring down little alleys with cute shops. We bought one of the local giant apples to munch on while walking. Vegetables were steamed with the onsen spring water in front of us while we blanched mushroom, spinach and pork in a broth on our table. Miso, pickled vegetables, partly cooked egg, tofu, seared salmon were just some of the other items we had. After breakfast we headed off to the famous onsen here. There is nothing ...

... It continued to snow and the weather set in making visibility hard. Colin was determined to get into trees but we found the powder just too deep. At one point entering the trees Colin disappeared with a loud shriek in front of me. He dropped off an edge he didn't see and landed in snow up to his neck, the footage on the go pro is gold. Needless to say it took him a long time to dig himself out and slowly ...
