We had Shabu Shabu which is like a Japanese meat fondue with boiling broth. Our second day of Kyoto we saw nijo castle kinkau-ji temple and daisen-in temple and a bamboo forest (all amazing). That evening we had Ramen though from a fast food restaurant so we were both disappointed. Our third day we went to another ...

... am to see the fish auction. Josh finally got some good Japanese conversation out of the Taxi driver. The fish auction started at 5.00 and ended at 5.20, it's just a blurr of numbers being shouted out beside massive Tuna. It's a sight to see. We then got the Shinkensen (bullet train) to Takayama, a small city with many traditional style buildings. The train journey itself was great the Japanese countryside is beautiful and so green it would give Ireland a run for it's money. ...
