          Cold swimming

Helena couldn't sleep last night for excitement, knowing that we were going to a water park today! I ended up in her bed and she was with daddy....apparently she's a bed hog! Hence we were all quite tired. Oliver went for his 2nd cycle ride while the rest of us had a lie in. We did take a wander to see the goats and cows and then the children enjoyed a swim while I read. We were going to take a picnic with us to Le Sagittaire, but decided on an early lunch at ...

... see Mont Ventoux in the distance - we had a little giggle, while Oliver had a little tear at the thought! (Especially when he had a closer look through the binoculars!)
Helena took some lovely photos with her new camera, we had a cold drink in a cafe and a wander up to the old church.
Once home, we were so hungry! Bread, cheese and pate. Yum!
Then an afternoon in the pool. It's 26 degrees in the water according to ...

Having had a really lovely meal out in Dijon last night, we got an early night and even I managed to sleep! The French traffic news shows hotspots in grades of colour according to the traffic jams expected. The worst grade is black - guess what colour our route was?! So, we set off by 8am, eating breakfast as we left the car park! We did well at first. But we did ...

... 1 night in Noyers, 2 hours drive then we have 3 nights in Reims (Champagne area). It was pretty good but the rain meant day 1's drive was more like 5 hours....but the hotel in La Mure was fab. Only 2 or 3 stars (depending what you read) but good internet, comfy bed and sensational shower. I should have also told all my readers that we have had an unforeseen technical hitch...my beloved Nikon S9500 has failed. When ...

... 3. B & Bs can be an awesome experience. We truly lucked out in Saint Peray last night. A young couple just started a B&B last year called Coeur de Vignes and it is beautiful. She is an amazing cook and he has a passion for wine... A very good combination in an area that grows fruit and produces some of France's best wines. Although it was not the easiest place to ...
